Sandro Russo
Age: Country of Birth: Country of Citizenship: Currently Residing In: Sandro Russo was born in Italy and displayed musical talent from an early age. He graduated summa cum laude from the V. Bellini Conservatory, earned a degree in pianoforte performance from the Royal College of Music in London and a master of music from Brooklyn College in New York. Mr. Russo made his New York City debut in 2000, performing Beethoven's Concerto No. 3, and presented a solo recital at Carnegie Recital Hall. The same year, he gave a Chopin Recital in Palermo, Italy, followed by an appearance at the "Nuove Carriere" Music Festival. Mr. Russo has also performed for the Rachmaninov Society in London, "Homage to Cziffra" Festival in New York City and with the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava. In 2005, he debuted at Salle Cortot in Paris and subsequently performed in venues such as Teatro Ghione in Rome, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and more recently, the American Liszt Society Festival in San Francisco. Mr. Russo has earned top prizes in numerous competitions, including Senigallia, Ibla Grand Prize, Frinna Awerbuch, Jacksonville Symphony and the Missouri Southern International Piano Competitions. Mr. Russo has premiered works by composers such as Lowell Liebermann, Paul Moravec and Marc-André Hamelin. He has studied and coached with Boris Petrushansky, Jeffrey Biegel and Seymour Bernstein.
