Musical Selection

Sofya Lisichenko-Lisitsa was born in Moscow to a family of musicians. She began her study of music at four and entered the Moscow Central School of Music in 1988, where her first teacher was T. Koloss. In 1999, she continued her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory with Ludmila Roschina. Ms. Lisichenko-Lisitsa has taken part in many festivals in countries such as Italy, Finland, Japan and Poland, as well as in her native Russia. She has also appeared with leading Ukrainian orchestras and in recitals in Moscow, the U.S., and in Geneva on Swiss radio. She took part in master classes with Vera Gornostaeva and A. Green. In 2003, Ms. Lisichenko-Lisitsa was awarded a scholarship from the Russian Performing Arts Foundation and graduated a year later from Moscow State Conservatory. She has participated in several international competitions, including the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition; Robert Schumann International Competition for Pianists and Singers; Zwickau, where she received a diploma; and the Isidor Bajic Piano Memorial, where she won first prize. In 2005, Ms. Lisichenko-Lisitsa became the assistant to her former teacher, Ludmila Roschina, at Moscow State Conservatory.
