Ti Xin
Age: Country of Birth: Country of Citizenship: Currently Residing In: Ti Xin was born in China and began her piano studies at age five. She pursued her piano studies at the Music School of the Central Conservatory where she studied with Du Taihang and Zhang Jin. Ms. Xin captured prizes in piano competitions held in Changchum and Jilin as a child. At age 12 she was awarded second prize in the Xinghai Cup National Piano Competition; three years later she received an honorable mention in the Asian Toyama Cup Piano Competition and third prize in the Steinway Teenager Selection International Piano Competition. In 2002, Ms. Xin performed a solo recital at Shen Yang Conservatory of Music and began a series of recitals throughout China. In the same year, she competed in the Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. China Central Television exclusively aired a program featuring one of Ms. Xin's live performances. She has performed with the China Youth Chamber Orchestra, at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference and in 2006 won the Gail Newby Concerto Competition, resulting in a performance of Grieg's Piano Concerto with the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra. She was awarded an honorable mention in the Missouri Southern International Competition and second prize in the World Piano Competition. She has participated in master classes with world-renowned pianists Arie Vardi and Baessler Laus. Currently, Ms. Xin studies with John Perry at the Colburn School of Performing Arts.
