Prizes and Awards
The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center extends its deepest gratitude to the following individuals who provided this year's prizes and awards.
Finalist Prizes
First Prize - $25,000
Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Dukes, Jr.
Second Prize - $15,000
Donated by Mr. J.D. Williams in honor of George and Virginia Sidwell
Third Prize - $10,000
Donated by Dr. John W. Layman in honor of Ellen and Margaret Layman
Semi-finalist Prizes
Each of the six semi-finalists not proceeding to the final round of the Competition will receive one of the following $2,000 prizes:
- The Martha M. Boucher Memorial Prize
- The Clifford Herzer Memorial Prize
- The Kapo-Barwick Memorial Prize
- The Howard Laster Memorial Prize
- The Ellen Layman Memorial Prize
- The Ferdinand J. Petraitis Memorial Prize
Special Awards
Semi-finalists are eligible to receive one of the following special awards:
The Beatrice Simmons Sabghir Memorial Award ($2,000)
Presented to the youngest semi-finalist not selected to advance to the final round.
Chamber Music Award ($2,000)
Awarded by the International Jury to the semi-finalist demonstrating the best ensemble skills during the semi-final chamber rounds.
Volunteer Jury Award ($1,000)
Presented to the competitor whom the Volunteer Jury selects as the top performer in the semi-final rounds.
Audience Award ($1,000)
Presented to one of the three finalists whom the audience selects as the top performer in the final concerto round.
