Squonk Opera - Astro-rama
While creating their smash hit College Park: The Opera in 2006, the Squonkers noticed anomalies in the sky above College Park that they insisted on returning to investigate. A 50-foot radio telescope for otherworldly investigations factors into their Astro-rama scheme. A wild visual and musical celebration of the unknown, Astro-rama promises wholesome fun for everyone! (Actually we have no idea what to expect, and we’re as anxious as you are to see what they come up with next. Just to be safe, we’re keeping them outside and not charging admission.)
THEATRE COURTYARD (OUTDOORS BEHIND CENTER). Bring a blanket or a lawn chair to enjoy an evening under the stars. The performance runs approximately 75 minutes without intermission.
On Friday, September 26 NASA astrophysicist Marc Kuchner will describe some of the latest real-life work being done in NASA's search for habitable Earth-like planets around nearby stars. For more information, see the Performances A-Z listing.
