Richard Strauss's Metamorphosen bids a longing farewell to one beloved world while Edgard Varèse's Amériques joyously welcomes another into existence. The orchestra also presents Jasmin Lee, winner of the 2008 UMSO Concerto Competition, in Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in F-Sharp Minor, along with the UM Concert Choir in Brahms’s Nanie.
