For Colored Folks: An Adaptation
“for colored folks…” is a hybrid-performance of two choreopoems: Ntozake Shange’s for colored girls who considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf and Keith Antar Mason’s for black boys who considered homicide when the streets were too much.
The end result is a cohesive choreopoem that explores love, loss, happiness, pain, and self-worth.
“For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
This is a TDPS Second Season production.
This event is part of our Civil War to Civil Rights: The Well-Being of a Nation series.
